Overview:  The Private Pilot Course is the first step in process of becoming a professional airplane pilot. This certificate allows you to carry passengers, but you will not be able to fly for compensation or hire without further training and certification. Additional category and class ratings are available, please contact us with any questions.

Enrollment Prerequisites: The student must have a valid student pilot certificate and a current 3rd class medical prior to beginning flight training (although, a 2nd class medical is recommended). 

Aircraft: The Cessna 152 is typically used at this level of training. Other aircraft including the Cessna 172, Diamond 20, and Diamond 40 can be substituted to complete the Private Pilot Training at an additional cost.

  • Weight, balance & density altitude calculations.

  • Use of Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM)
  • Visual Flight Rules (VFR) navigation & flight planning

  • Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR)
  • Accident reporting requirements (NTSB)
  • Flight safety, aeronautical decision making (ADM)

Flight Training

  • Pre & post flight procedures
  • Airport  operations
  • Taxi, takeoff, and landing operations
  • Performance maneuvers
  • Navigation & night operations
  • Emergency procedures
  • Familiarization with proper control techniques
