Overview:  The Commercial Pilot Course builds upon the knowledge you received in your private pilot training.  It also introduces the privileges and limitations set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration for commercial pilots.  The course consists of 2 parts which build upon knowledge received in private pilot training. Enrollment Prerequisites: The student must hold a valid Private Pilot Certificate and a current 3rd class medical prior to beginning flight training.

Aircraft: All U.S. Flight Academy airplanes can be used for this certificate to meet the required total time. The Piper Arrow, PA-28R-201, is used to meet the required complex aircraft flight time.

Flight Training

• At completion of course, student will meet Federal Aviation Administration requirements to include (but not limited to):
• Pre and post flight procedures
• Airport  operations
• Takeoffs, landings & go-around procedures
• Performance maneuvers & navigation
• Emergency operations
• Special operations & commercial scenarios

Ground Training

• Advanced airplane systems
• Aerodynamics&  principles of flight
• Weight, balance and density altitude calculations.
• Use of performance charts & effects of exceeding limitations
• Night & high altitude operations
• Meteorology
• Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM) & the National Airspace System (NAS)
